MSCI Equal Weighted Indices
An alternative to market capitalization-weighted indices

The MSCI Equal Weighted Indices offer an alternative to market capitalization-weighted indices. According to the MSCI Equal Weighted Indices Methodology, each security is weighted equally at each quarterly rebalance. Weights may fluctuate between rebalancings based on the performance of each security. This alternative weighting methodology removes the influence of prices from the index weighting scheme at each index rebalancing.

The MSCI Equal Weighted Indices may be calculated for all MSCI Developed, Emerging and Frontier Markets countries, including the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the Arabian Markets countries. The MSCI Equal Weighted Indices are constructed from various MSCI Country and Regional Indices that are calculated according to the MSCI Global Investable Market Indices Methodology.
