The MSCI Emerging Markets Index is a free float-adjusted market capitalization index that is designed to measure equity market performance in the global emerging markets.
An exchange traded fund based on the MSCI Emerging Markets Index has been launched by Barclays Global Investors and trading began on April 11, 2003.
Additionally, Chicago Mercantile Exchange, NYSE Liffe US and the Bclear platform of Liffe have been licensed to create futures contracts on this Index.
Index Calculation
The MSCI Emerging Markets Index is calculated in US Dollars on a real time basis and disseminated every 60 seconds during market trading hours.
