MSCI Emerging Markets

The MSCI Emerging Markets Index is a free float-adjusted market capitalization index that is designed to measure equity market performance in the global emerging markets. As of June 2006 the MSCI Emerging Markets Index consisted of the following 25 emerging market country indices: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Israel, Jordan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Russia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, and Turkey.

History

An exchange traded fund based on the MSCI Emerging Markets Index has been launched by Barclays Global Investors and trading began on April 11, 2003.

Additionally, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange has been licensed to create a futures contract on this Index. The CME e-Mini MSCI EM futures contract began trading on October 22, 2007.

Index Calculation
The MSCI Emerging Markets Index is calculated in US Dollars on a real time basis and disseminated every 60 seconds during market trading hours.
