MSCI EAFE

The MSCI EAFE Index is recognized as the pre-eminent benchmark in the United States to measure international equity performance1. It comprises 21 MSCI country indices, representing the developed markets outside of North America: Europe, Australasia and the Far East.

History

An exchange traded fund based on the MSCI EAFE Index has been launched by Barclays Global Investors and trading began on August 17, 2001. The Chicago Board Options Exchange and American Stock Exchange are licensed to market and trade options on the iShares MSCI EAFE fund. Additionally, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange has been licensed to create a futures contract on this Index. The CME e-Mini MSCI EAFE futures contract will begin trading on March 20, 2006.

Index Calculation
The MSCI EAFE Index is calculated in US Dollars on a real time basis and disseminated every 60 seconds during market trading hours.
