MSCI Asia-Pacific Hedge Fund OPTIX Index
Investable and representative hedge fund index with monthly liquidity

Investable - The MSCI Asia-Pacific Hedge Fund OPTIX Index is designed to be both investable and to reflect the overall structure and composition of the Asia-Pacific focused hedge fund universe.

Monthly Liquidity - Monthly constituent fund liquidity and index capacity rules facilitate the creation of tracker funds and other financial products that aim to replicate index returns.

Diversified and Representative - Designed to include funds from a wide range of hedge fund investment strategies available on a third party hedge fund platform:

  • Long Bias Japan
  • Directional Trading
  • Relative Value
  • Variable Bias
  • No Bias
  • Multi-process
  • Long Bias ex-Japan

  • The number of funds in the index is expected to grow over time. No less than 5 of the 7 strategies will be represented.
  • Strategies in the index are weighted by taking into account their weights in the Asia-Pacific hedge fund universe, generated from the MSCI Hedge Fund Indices and Database as a reference.
  • Specific concentration rules will limit individual fund exposure in the index.

Transparent - The index methodology is objective, rules-based and fully disclosed. Constituent information is made available to qualified subscribers*

Hedge Fund Platform

The MSCI Asia-Pacific Hedge Fund OPTIX Index contains only funds open to new subscriptions that are managed by Natixis Alternative Investments Limited ("NAI") where the day-to-day investment management has been delegated to external hedge fund managers. NAI, working with its partner in Asia, SPARX International (Hong Kong) Limited, is responsible for selecting and conducting due diligence on these external managers. NAI subsequently monitors the investment mandate of each managed fund. NAI is also responsible for the provision of fund valuations from the independent administrators of the managed funds.

*Among other requirements, subscribers must be "accredited investors" as defined in the United States Securities Act of 1933.
